In a Story Yet Untold

This body of work explores personal challenges of memory, trauma, and the enduring impact of a tragic event that has profoundly shaped the artist's life. Stemming from a drunk-driving accident caused by their aunt in 2008, the incident fractured the artist's family dynamics, reshaping their history and relationships while marking the onset of conscious memories.

10 shadow boxes, each representing a significant date since the accident, serve as individual visual narratives, combining deconstructed elements of family photographs and pieces of fragmented memories. A variety of sculptural materials like wood, metal, acrylic, and found objects, parallel the enduring nature of memory amidst decay. Some boxes will continue to change over time due to their treatment and finish, while others will be preserved. A network of hanging beer bottles, embellished with family images using liquid emulsion, serves as a visual representation of nostalgia and familial ties. Suspended in the air, the bottles invite contemplation on the enduring connections that shape our lives, evoking a sense of intimacy and memory, creating a centerpiece that pays homage to the bonds of family
